Mt Pyramid at Gordonvale does.look very much like a pyramid, though it IS most definitely just a normal mountain (a pack of lunatics run up it every year for 'fun'). I grew uo in Cairns and lived for a few years in Gordonvale and had a great view of the pyramid. It casts a really cool 'V' shaped shadow too. Also, I remember back in the 1980s when i was a kid, there was a kooky local couple that insisted that the Garden of Eden was actually Far North Queensland (it IS a really awesomely beautiful place tbh) and the preserved bodies of Adam and Eve were supposedly stashed inside the pyramid, which is actually their tomb and not just a mountain.
Also, Black Mountain, which is only a couple hours drive away up into the Atherton Tablelands, IS a TRULY spoooooky feeling place. Its remarkably small, but also seems to be completely out of place...check it out on Google Earth. Its just a pile of weird black blocks all tumbled together in a heap. There are huge gaps between the stones and it would be super easy to slip and fall way down into the spaces between the blocks, never to be found again, as you wouldnt hear a person yelling for help unless you were almost right above them. Several people and lots of cattle have gone missing there. The local Aboriginal tribe shun it totally. Australia is full of weird and creepy places still. Its the oldest continent....and you can really feel that near timeless age sometimes when you are in a truly remote olace."
