In my previous research, photographs from this World’s Fair, the first official one in The United States, were scarce, however upon a second dive I’ve accumulated over 180 unique and seldom seen photographs of The 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia.
Furthermore, a majority of these images are of the Stereoscope variety. We will discuss the brief yet eventful history of the 1876 World’s Fair, while examining the details of these historically important photographs in a very rare collection. "“Expedition of 1873” Ancient Ruins, Canyon De Chelly, Southwest [First Photos] by Timothy O’Sullivan"
"...Howdy ya’ll. I’ve recently been diving into the work of Timothy H. O’Sullivan, who, besides his famous photography of the Civil War, was also invited to join multiple expeditions to the West and Southwest. Some of which involved O’Sullivan being the first to photograph a multitude of eventual National Monuments for the first time.
I recently just uploaded a video with O’Sullivan’s crisp and clear photographs from the 1860’s during the Civl War. After the fame O’Sullivan garnered for being able to capture quality images in the most rugged of conditions, O’Sullivan was invited on the Expedition of 1873 into the Southwest Territories of America.
What we will view today are the images from this expedition. I will include the titles provided on each image when relevant. This expedition was one of the first to venture into this part of The United States, and the first to bring a photographer - enjoy these epic images, including the first of The Canyon De Chelly! .."

"...Howdy ya’ll. Today we’re going to look through a vast collection of images by British photographer Roger Fenton, said to be the First Photographs ever taken during the “theatre of a war”, this being over 140 highly detailed images of The Crimean War (1853-1856).
Roger Fenton is considered by many historians to be the first official War Photographer. The images today depict a fascinating landscape; photographs not full of despair or dread, but rather images of soldiers, military leaders, and their encampments, as well as the vast landscape that encompassed The Crimean War.
