"...Howdy ya’ll. Many viewers love the videos discussing old world architecture; and thus, today we will be looking at the Reims Cathedral in Reims, France. This immense superstructure has a vast history which dates back to Gallic-Roman times, with the cathedral we see today sitting directly over the remains of an ancient crypt and Roman bath.

Today we will look at the oldest photographs I could find of Reims Cathedral. The Cathedral has been enlarged, renovated, damaged, and rebuilt multiple times, including the most recent coming after the near complete destruction of the structure during WWI. The Cathedral was then excavated, renovated, and rebuilt mainly using funds from the American Rockefeller Foundation. We will discuss the implications of the history, and focus on key components found within the cathedral.

"...Howdy fellow old world researchers. Let’s take a look at the oldest photographs of Portland, Oregon. This city seems to be shrouded in mystery, and we have a collection today of unique photographs of Portland taken between the years 1855 and 1940.

What makes this collection even more astounding is, technically speaking, Portland had only been established for a little over a decade at the time of the earliest photographs. We will see the history might not be all that we have been told. We have sprawling open land, farms, and outdoor wood factories depicted well into the 1880’s, and then after a lull in photographs, we see a massive city has erupted by the turn of the century.

Then directly before the Old City’s demolition in the late 1930’s, and early 1940’s, we have the most detailed photographs of Old Portland being taken, which we will focus on today. Mainly those taken by Minor White, the photographer.

The Rose City, The Great White Way; A city full of lights. The 1905 World’s Fair, The Final Demolition of the Inner Iron City; we will discuss it all. Please share your thoughts and ideas below. Enjoy!

"...Howdy ya’ll. Today we’re going to discuss the deep and intricate history of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I’ve compiled for you today roughly 100 photographs, plus over 50 additional images of relevance, to help paint the picture of the “old world” history of Halifax. In this sense, we endeavor to unfold the many layers of the narrative, trying to decipher the anomalies, from pre-history to the untimely loss of the best architecture of the city, all the while focusing on the oldest known photographs of Halifax.

We have ties in the Indigenous Legends of Halifax to Norumbega, while numerous Star Forts of Nova Scotia appear like clockwork in a short amount of time. We have the vast Mi’kmaq people and their numerous stories of creation, and their vast population which resided in Nova Scotia for thousands of years.

Throughout Halifax, and Nova Scotia proper, we see architecture which was said to be built under the auspices of war.
